From the "Damocles Sword" section on social issues:

Good Morning Varanasi
The great river Ganga flows down from the mighty Himalayas to the plains to be revered and celebrated, while at the same time over-extracted, dammed and diverted. Approximately one in twelve people in the world live in the river's catchment area, insensitive to the toxic human and industrial waste they add every day to its flow. (Even though they rely on the Ganga not just to cleanse their bodies but also their souls). Today the holy river shudders as its sacred banks are further exploited by the ludicrous wooing of a gullible vote bank that will decide the fate of the largest democracy in the globe.
